Haul: What I got my Boyfriend for Christmas

Hi all!

I hope everyone had a lovely and relaxing Christmas. I know I did and it was filled with wine...

I decided before I gifted my Boyfriend his presents I would take a picture of them and share with you what I got. I thought it would be a nice spin instead of annoying you all with what I received from Saint Nick.

Seán(the Boy) loves to wear suits. Any chance he gets he's in one. He's even sent me a picture here and there where he's just put one on at home 'for the craic' so I decided that something to do with this obsession would be appropriate. He's also studying Computer Science in college so is a self confessed nerd. So with that back story here is what I got!

I got these nerd cuff links back in October when I was browsing Etsy(for the first time) looking for ideas for Christmas(I like to start early) when i saw 'Geek cufflinks' this sent me on a frenzy to find ones saying Nerd as it's a running joke but also terribly true! I came across a pair here so was delighted!
On passing one day Seán mentioned how he would love a pocket watch for when he wears a suit so I stored that information and bought him exactly that. It's from Sekonda so it wasn't very expensive but it looks it in my opinion and what's more important is he loved it! I was so happy with his reaction that I think it's safe to say it's one of the best presents I've ever got someone before!

So that is what I got my Boyfriend for Christmas! We also made something for each other but one I'm not going to bore you with it and two it's more on the personal side.

Did any of you get something for a loved one this year that you feel you hit the mark spot on? Or did you receive something that was just perfect for you?

I hope you're all well and I'll talk to you in the New Year!(eek!)

Love and Hugs,

Alice May xx

Christmas Outfit Ideas!

Hey everyone!

Today I'm writing a post with some outfit ideas to wear over the Christmas period. Everyone has parties and nights out around this time so thought I would show you some of the outfits I would wear.
These three outfits are what I've worn before so the photo's are kind of 'live in action'
Everyone loves a skater skirt, why not pair it with a simple black tee and a gold belt to split it up? I'm wearing brogues with this outfit instead of heels.
I really like to wear jeans and heels when I go out it's super easy, keeps you warm and no worries when it comes to wind! I wore black skinny jeans from River Island, a simple black flowy top, A purple blazer for a pop of colour, simple nude shoes and my Michael Kors handbag
I love this dress! I wore it to my cousins wedding believe it or not just over a year ago and it has seen so much wear! I wore is on Christmas day last year. It's just a simple black skater style velvet dress from New Look that I paired with a simple gold belt from Penny's. I love wearing all black(have you noticed?) so wearing black tights and black heels I feel brings the whole outfit together.
Lastly I just wanted to briefly show the dress I'll be wearing this Christmas. I don't have the best pictures but I wore it to a wedding in October. I'll be wearing this navy dress from A|Wear the same way but with tights. I bought the purple blazer from the 'jeans outfit' for this dress so I'll wear that too. I bought low nude heels for the wedding as I had a sprained ankle at the time and I also didn't want sky scrapers! As a result I was able to wear them for ages so think this is a new thing for me!

I hope I gave you some ideas on what to wear this Christmas season. I hope you're all doing really well.

All my love,

Alice May xx

Christmas Fun Run!

Hey all, long time no talk!

I haven't mentioned it on my blog and not really on my twitter but basically I have returned to the land of poor student and started my degree in Montessori Education!
I'm loving it so far but the course is very demanding so that's where I've been for the most part.

The other day we all took part in a Christmas fun run in aid of the Red Cross who are doing great work for the people affected by the typhoon in the Philippines. It was more of a walk but either way we all got dressed in our christmas jumpers and walked the streets singing carol's and shaking buckets.

I would encourage you all to donate what you can in what is the time of giving!(Donate here)

I can't wait to write more blog posts as I've missed it but you can imagine how hectic everything is right now so be patient with me!

All my love,

Alice May xo

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Christmas!
I hope you all had a safe and wonderful Christmas day with your loved ones.

I have been taking a little bit of a break from the Internet just checking in here and there but I will be back to regular posting soon with a lot of reviews and fun things planned.
Especially that I was very fortunate to receive a new camera for Christmas- a Nikon D5100! So with the new posts there will hopefully be better quality picture's!

Love & Kisses,

Benefit Blogger Christmas Party!

Hey guys so I had the awesome pleasure of attending the Benefit Blogger Christmas Party(I know, the Christmas season starts earlier and earlier each year!) last night in Dublin and you guyyys it was so much fun! Of course a lot of my lovely blogger friends were there but some I had never met before were there too and I think you may have gathered how much I love to meet new people!

Okay okay sorry I'll get onto the fun stuff!
Mark, benefits makeup artist for Ireland(who is amazing by the way!) showed us all of the Christmas sets as well as sneaky little something but as of right now I'm not sure If I'm allowed to talk about it so shh!

The sets this year are of course amazing, I always love having a gander at the sets each Christmas and this year was no different! They all have really cute packaging(when does benefit ever not?!) with a lot of them in mini suitcases that will come in handy for storage(and we all know how much I love a bit of storage!).

(picture from the Benefit website)
I think my favourite would have to be the 'Sexy Little Stowaways' it has a hoola bronzer, need I say more? I am obsessed to the extreme with it. It will feature strongly in my 'my makeup story' when I finally make the video that is! The set also includes:
  • it’s potent! eye cream brightening eye cream to fade dark circles
  • the POREfessional PRO balm to minimise the appearance of pores
  • BADgal lash mascara
  • stay don’t stray stay-put primer for concealers & eyeshadows
  • ooh la lift instant under-eye brightening boost
  • chachatint mango-tinted lip & cheek stain
  • sun beam golden bronze complexion highlighter
  • bella bamba a 3D brightening pink face powder
  • “that gal” brightening face primer
I had the chance to really play with the it’s potent! eye cream brightening eye cream today and I have to say I'm a convert! Then of course who doesn't luke the bad gal mascara? Okay, I can't hide it I love everything about the set, it's totes amazeballs! This retails at £25 which is about €30(we were told the prices in euro but goldfish memory here can't remember exactly!)
All the Christmas sets are available in store now so get yours quick!

I would talk all day about all of the stuff in the Christmas sets but this post is all ready longer then I anticipated..!

We received something awesome but I want to play with it a little and then I'll post a full review so for now I'll leave you with some photo's of the evening so you can feel apart of the extravaganza!

Have a mosey at your local counter or online as well which is linked here.

Until next time I hope you're all well and I'll talk to you soon,
Alice x
